Important note: the above information is to be used as a guide only. The distance at which a number plate can be identified has been verified using a 14 inch monitor and a 20 inch TV. Expect similar results from a good quality 12 inch + monitor. Other factors affecting the distance at which a number plate will be recognisable include:- light level, the angle of the camera to its target, the quality of monitor or TV used,  and the quality of the cabling and installation.
